The Karate Association of Chamba recently hosted the highly anticipated Himachal Pradesh State Karate Championship 2023, an event that brought together karate enthusiasts from various districts. The championship witnessed exceptional performances, with participants from the WASKF organization in Kangra District particularly standing out.
The opening ceremony was graced by SH Neeraj Nayyar, Hon’ble MLA of Chamba Constituency, while the closing ceremony was attended by SH Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Hon’ble Speaker of HP Legislative Assembly. Under the esteemed guidance of Shihan Anil Kumar Ram President and Chief Technical Director of WASKF, the students displayed their skills and unwavering spirit, creating a memorable chapter in the history of karate in Himachal Pradesh.
Representing the Kangra District, the WASKF students brought immense pride to their region by achieving exceptional success at the championship. They secured a total of 8 gold medals and 2 bronze medals across various categories, leaving a lasting impact on the competition.
Shihan Ritika Jamwal emerged as a true champion by winning the Individual Kata Gold and leading her team to victory in the Team Kata category. Her precision, grace, and skill left the audience in awe, establishing her as a formidable force in the world of karate.
Rahul Ram, Anvi Kapoor, and Aditya Kapoor showcased their dedication and talent by securing gold medals in the Kata and Kumite categories. Their mastery of technique and remarkable agility set them apart from their competitors, making them deserving champions.
The Kumite category witnessed remarkable achievements from Shivam Kumar Ram, Akhilesh, and Dhanya Sumbria, further adding to the glory of the Kangra District. Their determination and commitment resulted in outstanding performances, culminating in well-deserved gold medals.
Shihan Anil Kumar Ram, President and Chief Technical Director of WASKF, expressed immense pride in the success of the WASKF students. He congratulated all the karateka who earned medals and commended their dedication, hard work, and passion, which brought laurels to the Kangra District.
