

"Shihan Anil Kumar Ram"
the well-known martial artist, was born on September 7th, 1984, in the Khardah Area of Kolkata City. He is a true warrior by caste (Kshatriya) and is the son of Sri Birju Ram. He is the third child of the Ram Family. When he was a 3-year-old growing up in Khardah, Kolkata, India, he started taking lessons from his area’s best Martial Arts Masters named Sensei Ashok Rajbhar & Sensei Bijay Harijan. With a view to promoting and supporting Japanese martial arts higher education in India, Shihan Anil Kumar Ram established the Anil Martial Arts Sports Academy (Govt. Regd.) in 2000 and organized many District and State-level Championships, Seminars, and Workshops.
To develop and enhance the skills and techniques of Martial Arts, Shihan Anil Kumar Ram met many Senior Masters of different styles who are legendary icons in their respective styles, e.g., Kyoshi Arvind Kotnala, Hanshi J. S. Kalaimani, Shihan B. Parmesh, Chitah Yajnesh Shetty, Hanshi Janak Raj Jamwal, Hanshi Bharat Sharma, etc. Shihan also learned from different International Masters across India such as Grand Master Choo Choo Shut from Malaysia, Grand Master Richard Chew from Australia, Shihan Wany Macdonald from Australia, Grand Master Richard Bustillo from the U.S.A. (senior-most student of Bruce Lee), Renshi Petar Turkovic (General Secretary of the International Nanbudo Federation), Renshi Zilhad Mahmuljin (President of the International Instructor Committee of the International Nanbudo Federation), Hanshi Petro Zaupa U.S.A., Hanshi Jose Ramon Alvarez, etc.
Shihan Anil Kumar Ram teaches the students that everyone should protect themselves as well as the surrounding people. His goal is to help his students participate in the Olympics so that they bring pride to the nation. He is very disciplined and cares for each of his students individually. His students have achieved well in National and International Championships.
Shihan Anil Kumar Ram explains that Discipline, Devotion, and Determination are the keys to success in any sphere of life and Karate-Do is the way which leads us towards these 3Ds. His dedication to Karate-Do is well-reflected in his way of imparting training to his students as he provides maximum benefits to all his students while charging almost negligible fees from them so that money does not become a barrier between Karate-Do and the common masses.
He and his students have been facilitated a number of times by Mr. Madan Mitra, Sports Minister, Govt. of West Bengal, Mr. Swapan Banerjee (Social Worker), and Honorary Black Belt of our Association, DIG Debasish Ghosh of West Bengal.
